Job Description

PepsiCo is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our team at our Beverages site in Zeebrugge.  The successful candidate will join the Plant Management Team, and have overall responsibility for managing the maintenance department.

It is important that the Maintenance Manager integrates the plant vision, strategies and PepsiCo Code of Conduct and Values into the maintenance strategy, and translate it into a 3 year action plan with clearly defined KPI’s, procedures and objectives.   We would also expect the Maintenance Manager to build and sustain an internal and external network of advisors, consultants and experts and use their input to align operational strategies, action plans and procedures.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance budget which means that they manages the budget effectively to achieve and deliver the operational KPI’s.  They will also manage a large team of c25, with 9 direct reports, so people management experience is essential.

  • Development of the maintenance strategy (capacity assurance) and the set up and implementation of an operational action plan
  • Optimisation of the current maintenance processes and technologies in order to reach for zero downtime and to increase improved productivity on all production lines.
  • Integrate safety, hygiene and quality in the maintenance processes
  • Support implementation of change processes that will increase productivity and this in close collaboration with production department and project engineering
  • Reinforce the “continuous improvement” mindset within the TPM philosophy.
  • Build a culture in which “engagement”, “sense of urgency”, “pride” and “flexibility” are strong values.
  • Supports the Pepsico People’s agenda, a.o. by developing a maintenance team of appr. 25 high qualified technicians and 9 direct reports
  • Supports the Plants improvement and lean agenda
  • Set up clear communication platforms within the plant across departments

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Masters degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an operational environment and minimum 3 years experience as a maintenance manager in a high tech environment. (This is not a first time manager role)
  • Capable to manage maintenance processes in the (food) processing industry
  • Basic scientific knowledge of both mechanical and electrical aspects.
  • Experience in technical concepts as eg. Utility distribution, Automation concept (PLC automation, I/O processing, Field instrumentation (P-, T-, level transmitters,…), process technologies…
  • People manager: motivating people, defining development plan for team members, supporting in day to day activities each in their specific working areas, creating a continuous improvement culture.
  • Close cooperation with different production departments in order to align the maintenance activities with the needs of the plant.People manager
  • Stress- resistant
  • Flexible
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
  • Experience with Quality and Food safety (HACCP) in food
  • Strong communicator and networker within the plant and within the Pepsico world, eager to adapt best practices and share knowledge and experiences with colleagues
