Productivity Officer PepsiCo - Zeebrugge



Job Description

PepsiCo is looking for a Productivity Officer to join the team at our beverages sites in Zeebrugge.  This role presents a great opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of the entire operations lifecycle, from receipt of raw materials to shipping of finished goods. It will help develop the successful candidates understanding of continuous improvement process and challenge their analytical capabilities.

Currently, the Zeebrugge site is working on a step change project regarding our Elopak zones (5 machines). The project is technical as well as highly people oriented and the Productivity Officer will be in the lead to successfully implement this change.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role requires someone with a real drive towards continuous improvement.  The successful individual will be working in a busy shop floor environment, and should have the interest in developing into a team manager within the next 1-3 years.

  • Identify and implement through the operations, maintenance and engineering teams opportunities for increasing the productivity KPI’s.
  • Take ownership for the further development of continuous improvement processes and coordinate CI efforts across the sites using M&W, Good Practices and lean manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Introduce and maintain comprehensive, usable and measured systems of capacity modeling, resource modeling, and Value stream mapping.
  • Each year identify and deliver on projects which have an agreed cost saving benefit for the facility
  • Contribute to the manufacturing overhead and capital planning processes for the facility
  • Full scope project management of step change projects and management of small projects as required.
  • Bringing lean manufacturing practices to a benchmark standard. Ensuring that there is lasting engagement and commitment to the lean manufacturing principles within the entire plant teams. Facilitate the transfer of lean knowledge between the plants. Facilitate a training program to ground the plant team in lean fundamentals.
  • Identify opportunities for and facilitate Kaizen events.
  • Key KPIs  which are excepted to be a focus for this role are: Waste, Productivity, Line efficiencies, Cost savings (As recorded in the productivity tracker), Water usage, Power usage.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • A Masters degree in engineering or an operations related discipline.
  • Preferably 5 years or more experience in a manufacturing environment preferably with direct responsibility for a lean manufacturing program
  • Formal training in lean manufacturing would be a distinct advantage
  • The candidate will have strong leadership and excellent communication skills within a team environment.
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a past history of successful project management.
  • This post requires a skilled communicator who can influence people to achieve agreed goals.
  • Previous people management experience is considered an advantage
  • Solid project management skills
  • The candidate will need strong analytical skills and will need to have good numerical ability
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is a must
