Job Description

We are seeeking a SAP Functional Analyst for our Europe, Africa & Middle East Division who will be based in Brussels (Belgium). This individual is accountable for providing integration of SAP Financials and supporting modules solution to fit within the Starwood Established Global Template allowing for localization for assigned business area.  Understands the business strategy of a particular function/area and works with the team to define business requirements under the global template framework.  Communicates and coordinates with team leads, other analysts, business leadership, and project manager to ensure appropriate integration of processes and modules across the enterprise.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Understand the business strategy given by Business Area Leadership. Execute against Starwood Financial System Roadmap. Provide integration of SAP solutions in Financial and supporting modules to support the business strategy.  Communicates and coordinates with other analysts, team leads, business leadership, and Project Manager to ensure appropriate integration of processes and ERP modules across the enterprise
  • Collaborate with the business area team to define business requirements, recommend best practices, define and assist the business area leadership in implementation of new processes, within an established framework of Major and Minor Enhancements process.
  • ERP Solution responsibilities: Within the context of the EAME hotel and Management Company implementations, responsible to deliver understanding of business requirement to supplier and implementation partner.  Perform reviews and evaluate adequacy partner's solution and other stage gate reviews as necessary. Deliver training programs, training contents, training on solutions delivered by supplier for the assigned business area.  Support/facilitate user acceptance testing. Serve as and escalation point for requirements clarification relating to project defects. Escalate to team lead and project manager as needed and drives the success and completion of the hotel and management company implementations.
  • Be consulted by supplier/support partner on complex and Starwood specific process Production Support issues. 
Supportive functions:In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:
  • Works with the business units and team lead to develop a technology strategy that aligns with IT business units' strategy.  Analyst must have a strong understanding of each business unit's business model and drivers for success, so to identify opportunities for the businesses operational efficiency and innovation by leveraging technology solutions.
  • Responsible to perform initial scoping of various enhancement/project requests and work with supplier to establish work/cost estimate with supplier.
  • Provide consultation to business area leadership by understanding requirement and critically of request.  Provide input for recommendations on timing of implementation as it correlates with other requests for the assigned business area, ensure business area leadership understands the impact of related requests and assist business area leadership on prioritizing their requests.
  • Gather and analyze requirements including processes within the scope of SAP implementation. Identify process change may be needed as result of SAP implementation as well as advise and obtain agreement from business area leadership.
  • Collaborate with team leads; ensure consistency of SAP solution across all business areas.
  • Communicate with colleagues, management and business area(s) on project status, risks and issues.
  • Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project objectives are met in a timely manner. 
  • Involved in the creation of documentation and training materials, and may deliver training during an implementation

Desired Skills & Experience

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
                 
Experience:
At least 4 to 6  consulting and team lead roleyears of experience in SAP Professional services including consulting.

Skills, Abilities
  • Ability and willingness to obtain knowledge of Starwood SAP Solution.
  • Strong Knowledge of SAP FI/CO, AA, SPL Modules
  • Ability to develop business blueprint documenting detail business requirements
  • Process oriented
  • Knowledge & experience on business process re-engineering
  • Ability to conceptualize well defined and comprehensive test cases.
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to work in a multi-tasking, changing environment.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a dynamic environment, be pro-active, be flexible about organization's culture, be a team player and service oriented.
  • Ability to work in a customer-oriented role to address business needs
  • Fluent in English and additional languages would be added advantage.
  • Ability to travel, estimated 80%.
  • Hospitality industry Accounting/Finance knowledge is a plus.
