Senior Professional, Regional Finance

Responsibilities

The jobholder will be part of Controller’s group within MasterCard Europe's Finance division. The core mission of the jobholder is to ensure timely and correct accounting treatment of all customer business agreements, in line with current applicable MasterCard policies.

Main Accountabilities
Create draft and final Accounting Summaries for every customer business agreement & ensure the accounting treatment of approved business agreements is in accordance to MasterCard's applicable policies and ensure that this accounting treatment is applied accordingly.
Participate in the contract drafting process, review draft contracts and ensure that contract verbiage is in line with the final accounting summary.
Cooperate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team in the preparation of Incentive accruals and ensure that underlying support is available for all accruals.
Produce a full monthly incentive reconciliation and provide the required clarifications to the European and Global Controller's Groups.
Ensure SOX compliance for all Key Control Activities.
Produce a variance analysis for Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss items (actuals vs. previous periods). Prepare and participate in quarterly incentive reviews with Finance Planning & Analysis team, with Global Finance and external auditors.
Produce process documentation for all owned tasks ' procedures / process flows.
Propose and implement cross-departmental and cross-divisional process improvements.
Active participation in quarterly Commitment and Contingency reporting to review all major sponsorship contracts, media buys and agency fees.
Participate in the yearly preparation of Belgian Gaap statutory accounts & reconciliations

Experience/Education:


' Between 2 and 4 years of experience in a similar job and environment
' University degree in Accounting, Finance or Applied Economics ' US GAAP and BE GAAP knowledge
' Outstanding verbal and written English skills. The knowledge of other European languages is an asset
' Very analytical mind with strong eye for detail
' High PC skills with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
' Previous working experience with an ERP system (Oracle experience is an asset)
' Ability to deliver with agreed timelines
' Stress resistant and proactive
' Self motivated with good organizational skills
' Team player
' Strong interpersonal communication skills
